We’re based at Chelmsford City Racecourse in Great Leighs, about 5 miles north of Chelmsford, right in Essex, and roughly 50 miles from central London.

Car

Free Parking, Disabled Parking Available
  • Parking is completely free for everyone attending.
  • Car park is at the Main Entrance off the A131 bypass.
  • Easy access via the A131, A120, or M11.
  • Sat nav postcode: CM3 1QP.
Disabled Parking
We’ve got 30 dedicated disabled bays. These are for blue badge holders. They are first come, first served, subject to availability.

Bus Or Train

If you’re using public buses, these services from Chelmsford Bus Station pass through Great Leighs and continue to Braintree:

Chelmsford Bus Station is a short walk from Chelmsford Railway Station, so switching between train and bus is easy.
Because the A131 can be busy, we don’t recommend walking to the racecourse from Great Leighs. The nearest train station is around an 18 minute drive from the racecourse, so allow extra time for the final leg.
